Therapeutic Massage Therapy

All therapeutic sessions provided in this practice are strictly professional and non‑sexual in nature. Our work is focused solely on improving functional movement, reducing discomfort, and supporting the overall health of the client’s body. At times, effective treatment may require addressing areas that are considered sensitive. Such work will only be performed when clinically indicated, and the therapist will clearly explain the specific area involved, the therapeutic purpose, and the method of treatment prior to proceeding.

Therapists within this practice may utilize different approaches, including fully clothed sessions or traditional massage techniques that require the client to undress. When undressing is required, proper draping with sheets and/or blankets is mandatory. These draping procedures are required by Mississippi State Massage Therapy laws and are in place to ensure safety, comfort, and protection of both clients and therapists.

For those of you who have never had a massage before, our therapists will say “undress to your comfort level”.  We know that can be confusing, so in general that means taking all clothes off and keeping underwear on; bras should be removed so that we can work on your back when face down.  The therapist will leave the room while you undress, and you get under the top sheet/blanket and cover yourself up all the way.  The therapist will knock on the door to make sure you are snugly under the sheets and covered up, before we enter the room.  

During any session in which the client is undressed, the client will remain covered at all times. Only the area being actively treated will be uncovered, and the drape will be adjusted with intention, professionalism, and respect.  Clients are not permitted to manipulate or remove draping for any reason, and any attempt will be grounds for termination of the session.
